About the Event

Celebrate the artistic collaboration of artists Carolyn Lavender, Monica Aissa Martinez, and Mary Shindell in the Center Space! See how their interests in zoology, anatomy, and botany combine to tell the story of life in Arizona as it has evolved over time. 

The collaborative project, titled Unintended Consequences, will be on view at the Center Space, inside Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, from February 17 through May 28, 2023. 

The three Phoenix-based artists have worked together in their collective, #CreatureManNature, yet they have not before undertaken any major collaborative projects. The result of their collaboration is a site-specific, temporary wall painting that explores topics such as the sixth extinction, climate change, and water use, providing insights that could forever change the way you view the Sonoran Desert.
