About the Event

What Makes Me Me showcases self-portraits created by 35 adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD). The artists are members of The Opportunity Tree and STARS, two Valley organizations that provide services such as education and job opportunities. 

Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation organized four workshops, in which participants practiced self-advocacy skills and expressed their individual identities. 

The workshop artists are Tiesha Harrison (acrylic/collage), Ellen Murray Meissinger (watercolor/tempera), Therosia Reynolds (poetry/spoken word), and Danielle Wood (ceramics).
