About the Workshop

Even at its most rewarding, caregiving can be a lonely job. Join others who spend their days and nights looking after young children, aging parents, and anyone in between as we learn from one another and build community through writing and workshopping true stories. This eight-week, virtual course is open to writers of all levels of experience, from beginners to veterans. Participants will read their stories in a public reading at Center Space gallery, in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, on January 28.

Instructor Amy Silverman is an independent journalist based in Tempe. She has co-taught the Mothers Who Write workshop for 20 years, co-founded the storytelling series Bar Flies, and is the author of a book about her daughter, My Heart Can’t Even Believe It: A Story of Science, Love and Down Syndrome. Learn more at Amy-Silverman.com.

Workshop dates: October 10, 17, 24; November 7, 14, 21, 28; and December 5, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
