About the Event
This final installment will focus on how the massive perspective shift of the 20th century affected musical compositions of the time. How were composers approaching this new realm of possibility? Much of it translates into the programmatic music of the age: titles that are more of a suggestion, pared-down versions of text-painting tools, the pushing of every conceivable stylistic envelope. Yet, there is a rigidity to contemporary music absent in other time periods. Perhaps a reflection of the uncertainty of the times? In this final workshop, every participant will have an opportunity to describe their own vision of the work we discuss. FREE; no kit needed.
