About the Event
The Alli Ortega Empty Bowls event is going virtual this year! We invite you to join us from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at Facebook.com/scottsdalecommunitypartners to learn more about the Alli Ortega Empty Bowls program and to donate to in support of Scottsdale’s most vulnerable through Scottsdale Community Partners at ScottsdaleCommunityPartners.org/donate.
Hear from various event partners, founders, sponsors, and community members who are passionate about what this event has done for the Scottsdale Community over the years through live video discussions throughout the day.
In lieu of selling physical bowls this year because we were unable to hold in-person workshops or classes, each donation will be entered to receive one of the hand-made Mystery Bowls crafted by a local Arizona artist, each with a value of $100 or more!
Help us reach the fundraising goal of $10,000 so Scottsdale Community Partners can support even more local families this year as so many of have been impacted by COVID-19. Let’s all join together to help provide comfort and kindness to our neighbors and friends.
Empty Bowls History
Each year, Scottsdale Community Partners, Scottsdale Human Services, Scottsdale Arts, Scottsdale Unified School District, Scottsdale Community College, and the Ortega family come together to raise funds for human services in Scottsdale through the Empty Bowls Program.
Throughout the year, Scottsdale Unified students and community members attend workshops and classes where they learn about pottery and design. They then create individual pottery pieces that are sold at the Empty Bowls event, traditionally held at Scottsdale Community College during the first week of December. The December 2020 event was delayed and then transitioned to this virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
